First off, it depends on your synthesizer. If it enables you to detune, work in many voices and has a good sound, you will be fine:-). Examples I know are IL Harmor and Sylenth 1. Native Instruments seems to have great synths for that too. The trick is to take like 4 saws. You put them in more voices, 5-8 should work. You detune them all a good bit, not too much, because that will most of the time make a trance-ish sound. Make sure the detuning level of all saws is the same. Then, make the attack, decay, sustain and release, well, like u want them. That should do it. Most of the time you get quite a proper sound. If you want to know more and so, use the term 'supersaw', because that is the term that this kind of sound is identified by. Good luck!

And for more electro, just make some more saws but dont put detuning on them, but take distortion for example;-) most of the time just saws, halfway squares...
