this what i do i use the bpm counter for reference but make sure you pay attention to changes in pitch, you can set them to the same bpm just to save time, but you still wont be matched you got to remember that beats are very small fine points so like if one record is 128.5 and one is 128 gradually theyll get unmatched, sometimes it takes me 3-4 mins to sync the 2 tracks that arent at the same bpm and then its all slight jog wheel adjust il post a link to ellaskins hes a great youtube tutor and can show you cueing, pitch riding, and anything else ellaskins
and i wish we all lived close then we can all dj togethor, i wouldnt mind helping people i had to teach myself because i have no dj friends
Oke thank you 4 your response;-) And DJ's like Fedde or Joris Voorn mix like this way, or does any good DJ mix like this? Because some people say you're a fake DJ when you just pitch by seeing the bpm counter..

thats not true because the counter wont tell you 127.01 like i said beats are very small tiny points and i actually put a fedde set thru my cdjs and he does play songs at different bpm even if you make them the same bpm youll still have atleast a min of playing with the pitch control before there synced, thats why i laugh at people who say vinyl djs just play a track then wait 5 mins for the next one to properly mix too different bpm songs it can take a few mins of pitch adjustment to make them synced to where minimal jog wheel is all thats unnecessary
Ok, and under the bpm counter: there is a number and I've heard
you have to fit them to the same multliplications, for example 0.80 (40x2) and the other track 0.40 (20x2). Is this because of the numbers behind the decimal of the bpm?

yeh you can make a mathematical formula i just keep adjusting the pitch till their perfect and then once im ready to cue i drop it in now i know why everyone loves cdj 2000s their looping capabilties make it so you match em make a loop and save yourself the time

Oke thanks 4 your help!
ellaskins puts it into perspective picture the jog wheel is like the brakes and gas on your car, and the pitch control is km/h, except your driving 2 cars at once not 1

Hey everyone,
I bought myself two Pioneer cdj 400 and I got one Gemini mixer ps 626. So I have a question about beatmatching, I heard you have to cover the bpm counter on your cd spelers, because then you have to hear if the track's bpm is faster or slower than the one's playing... My question: you mix the track in, do you first set the right bpm and then turn your johwheel to 'beatmatch'? Or do you first set the bpm when you don't want to mix in yet, and wait till the right moment to mix in and then you only have to play with your jogwheel?.. Hope you guys understand me!
